What Family and Linked Members Does
Family and Linked Members helps you show parent, guardian, and child relationships on member profiles.
Use this when your team needs to see which students are connected to the same family or guardian. Linked family members appear on each related member profile so staff can move between those records quickly.
During verification, linked members continued to display their own:
- Membership status
- Billing information
- Attendance history
- Member profile information
Link a Parent or Guardian
- Open MatAdmin.
- Go to Members.
- Open the member who should be linked to a parent or guardian.
- Select Edit.
- Open Add more details if the Parent / Guardian section is not already visible.
- Find Parent / Guardian.
- Use Link Parent / Guardian.
- Search for the parent or guardian.
- Select the member from the available results.
- Save the member.
After saving, the linked parent or guardian should appear in Family / Linked Members on the member profile.
View Linked Family Members
Open a member profile and look for Family / Linked Members.
A linked parent or guardian appears with the label Parent/Guardian.
A linked child appears with the label Child.
Use View next to a linked family member to open that member profile.
Link Multiple Family Members
A member can show more than one family link.
During verification:
- One child profile showed multiple parents or guardians.
- One parent or guardian profile showed multiple children.
To add another parent or guardian, edit the child member again and use Link Parent / Guardian to select another member from the available results.
Remove a Family Relationship
- Open the member profile.
- Find Family / Linked Members.
- Select Unlink next to the relationship you want to remove.
- In the Unlink Member dialog, review the prompt: Remove this family link?
- Select Delete to remove the link, or Cancel to keep it.
After the relationship is removed, MatAdmin shows Family link removed.
Things to Know
- Family links are managed from member profiles.
- The visible relationship labels are Parent/Guardian and Child.
- Linked members keep their own member profiles.
- Linked members keep their own membership status, billing information, and attendance history displays.
- If the person you want to link does not appear in the available search results, verify that the member record exists and review the member details before continuing.
